HICKORY, N.C. (April 8, 2020) – As the world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, manufacturers, universities and other organizations are stepping up to join the fight, especially when it comes to getting the medical community much-needed supplies. Shurtape Technologies, LLC, an industry-leading manufacturer and marketer of adhesive tape and consumer home and office products, is among those manufacturers – and essential businesses – working to ensure critical products are available to various industries, professionals, consumers and more.
Although often overlooked, tape is playing a major part in this ongoing crisis event: packaging tapes are being used to seal cartons of essential food, medicines and personal hygiene products; duct and painter’s tapes are being tasked with quick fixes and updates around the home; medical tapes are being depended upon by various hospitals and health clinics; and HVAC tapes are needed to keep residential and commercial systems maintained and running in peak condition. Even double-sided tapes have a place in this battle.
Most recently, the Company’s Shurtape® brand DP 401 double-coated polyester film tape is being entrusted to secure foam pads to face shield visors in the University of North Carolina’s (UNC) emergency face shield manufacturing effort.
Additionally, following social distancing protocols to maintain 6 feet from others, UNC is also leveraging Shurtape® brand floor marking and barrier tapes, like VP 415 warning stripe tape, BT 200 woven barricade tape and P- 628 gaffer’s tape, to define work areas and hygiene safety zones, as well as denote transfer areas for materials and finished products.
