Facility joins company’s North Carolina footprint that includes seven additional office, manufacturing and R&D facilities
HICKORY, N.C. (June 2023) – Shurtape Technologies, LLC, an industry-leading manufacturer and marketer of adhesive tape and consumer home and office products, is proud to announce the official opening of its new manufacturing facility in Catawba, an expansion of its distribution center that opened in 2020.
The construction project was executed in two phases:
- Phase One: Distribution Center: Opened in July 2020, the distribution center features 205,000 square feet of high-bay storage.
- Phase Two: Manufacturing Facility: Opened in June 2023, the new manufacturing facility is a 102,000-square-foot expansion that provides light manufacturing operations.
Together, these co-located operations employ approximately 80 people, who are charged with supporting growth within the Company’s Industrial, Consumer and Craftsman and International channels.
“To be able to do what we accomplished over the last few years, with the distribution center and now the manufacturing expansion is exciting, especially when you consider some of the hurdles our teams faced, including delays due to COVID and supply chain disruptions for building materials. The design and construction of this project was led by ARCO/Murray Design-Build, leveraging local firms for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automation, cranes/hoists/rigging and other work where possible.
The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting, presentations from members of Shurtape’s leadership team and a luncheon for employees of the facility.
