HICKORY, N.C. (January 2019) – In its continued effort to support employee health, Shurtape Technologies, LLC, has announced the grand opening of a new on-site fitness center and medical clinic at its duct tape manufacturing facility in Stony Point, NC. The grand opening was recognized with two “open house” style celebrations, during which employees had the chance to sign up for the fitness center, try out the exercise equipment, and get a first look at the new clinic.
The state-of-the-art center is equipped with a range of workout equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bicycles, weight machines, exercise balls, free weights, and more – allowing for a wide variety of activities for all fitness levels. It is designed with shock-proof rubberized flooring, creating a safe and comfortable space for floor exercises. Employees will have access to the fitness center during normal plant hours, with locker rooms and showers available for convenience.
The medical clinic features updated aesthetics and modern amenities for everything from routine exams and prescribing medications to nutritional counseling. Shurtape employees will have access to medical professionals through the clinic, offering a variety of services, including annual physicals, treatment for minor illness and injury, help managing conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, and other chronic diseases, and referrals to specialists as needed. The on-site clinic also provides the benefit of eliminating travel time and the need to miss work to see a healthcare provider.

Stony Point holds one of four fitness centers and four medical clinics located in Shurtape manufacturing and office facilities located in the Hickory, NC area.
